"Door de meeuwen heen"
‘As Time flies By’
Each artwork has its own historical story to tell , throughout the ages these black and white collages share something much deeper than the eye can see.
Hidden deep inside these seagull artworks are newspaper articles filled with stories from peoples lives… hundreds of names from the yellow pages, torn en invisibly hiding underneath the visible images. Who knows, maybe your name, your history, your parents, even your family members could be hiding under their wings?
the concept of these collages in PAPIER-MACHE is, that life can look beautiful on the outside, we are so good at hiding what is deeply hidden, even though the inside is torn and broken.
Seagulls often have to fight their way through heavy winds and storms. There are moments in our lives that we too much face the storms of life, in such times it can be difficult to keep our head above the water, sometimes it can feel like we are drowning.
But.. what do we do with the storms in our lives? Do we let the floods of despair overtake us, Or .. do we let the strong winds and storms lift us up higher.
Dare we believe? that the wind will lift us up to rise above the storm, and bring us to safe haven, where we find new strength. where we can spread our wings and sour new heights, extending our boundaries and see things from a higher perspective. with a birds eye view. And a heavenly perspective.
